Very early one morning, I photographed Lake Belvidere, north of Stowe. As the mist was lifting from the water into the clouds, the intense color of the leaves started to reflect on the lake. I’d like to share this with you all…

It blooms from early to late summer and some species are used in herbal medicine. The flowers are purple, sometimes yellow or white, and “cone shaped”, with the petals pointing downward when they open.

Just across the street from where I live there is a gorgeous bush of echinacea. A beautiful subject easily within my reach. I particularly enjoyed photographing the bees on the flowers.

Nevertheless, it is rewarding for a photographer to go out on a winter day, especially early in the morning and even better after a light snowfall. You can capture the beautiful creations that come from combining flowers with frost and ice. Believe me, it is worth getting your fingers ice cold!
